Claire Rivers is a writer and has fallen victim to writer’s block. She then retreats to a massive house that’s entirely operated by AI.
She has a sound outline for the book she’s trying to write—one that is very well organized in her mind. But, when it comes to putting her thoughts to pen and paper or fingers to keyboard… nothing comes up. What makes the movie even more interesting is that while a craze for using AI tools for content creation, imagery, and translation has reached new heights in the last few months, this movie takes it, flips the positives on their heads, and gives this not very vague message: "As a creative person, are you sure about trusting technology?"🤔
No need to say the poster image is nothing but alluring.
Claire (played by Rachel Shelley), a promising author, is treated by Henry (played by Wayne Brady), a concierge hologram, and Rita (played by Heida Reed), a cutting-edge technology android-assistant who mentors Claire and handles all household chores while Claire is writing her book. Cupboards full of food, a running path, warm wine, a typewriter, and a sensor to unlock the stories trapped in your head. What a life for an author! Indeed!
Everything is well and good until a virus infects the AI system, closing the doors (literally) for Claire to the outside world. The blessings are now replaced by a malfunctioning android, a degenerating host, and no tool to communicate with the outside world. Over time, food supplies run dangerously low, and the android becomes unreliable.😭😭
How would Claire find a way to outsmart the technology to make it out of the house alive?

When I decided to watch Blank, I expected to see a dystopia mixed with sci-fi and horror elements, but I had no idea the film would raise the following questions: Why were we so eager to depict AI as a fatal threat to the end of humanity?
